Profile Geometry Manager (D-Cubed PGM)
2D offset profiles and profile based geometric constraint solving
Integrating the PGM (Profile Geometry Manager) into your software application provides a range of offset profile and geometric constraint solving operations, see the PGM capabilities listed below. Target applications include:
- 2D and 3D CAD systems
- 2D toolpath creation in CAM systems
Flexible licensing arrangements and a simple, proven integration process enable your organisation to add PGM capabilities to your applications quickly and economically.
For a step-by-step description of how the PGM is used in an application, view our product tour.
PGM Key Capabilities
Automatically creates valid 2D offset profiles on points, lines, circles, ellipses, splines, general parametric curves, and offset curves. Trims zero length offset edges, zero radius offset arcs, overlapping and intersecting offset edges. Cap gaps in the offset profile by extending the adjacent edges or by inserting new edges.
Self-intersecting Ellipse and Spline Offsets
PGM trims intersecting and self-intersecting offset ellipses and splines.
Solving Constraints To Profiles With 2D DCM
Dimensions and constraints can be solved to profiles when PGM is integrated with a 2D DCM-based sketcher.
Manages Valid Offset Profiles With 2D DCM
Dimensions and constraints can be added to any combination of geometries in the base and offset profiles. The base profile can drive the offset profile and vice versa. PGM automatically handles changes in offset profiles, such as edge reversals and ensures that dimensioning schemes are preserved even when edges are trimmed and constraints need to be reallocated.
Profile Property Constraints
PGM can be used to measure and constrain profile properties, including length and area.
