David Taylor is vice president of global marketing for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division. In his current role, Taylor directs worldwide marketing execution and go-to-market strategy for Siemens PLM Software's full suite of software and services offerings worldwide.
Taylor previously served as senior director of portfolio solutions marketing where he led global strategic activities for the company’s cross portfolio solutions strategy. Prior to his portfolio solutions role, Taylor served as senior director of automotive industry marketing and was responsible for driving Siemens PLM Software’s automotive marketing vision and strategies. He was also involved with key industry organizations, providing thought leadership on new emerging issues faced by automotive OEMs and Suppliers.
Before joining Siemens PLM Software, Taylor was director of industry solutions at SDRC, where he was responsible for defining, packaging and selling industry specific solutions on top of SDRC’s portfolio of applications. Also while at SDRC, Taylor spent four years in the Metaphase sales organization and four years as director of Metaphase services for the Detroit region.
Taylor started his career at Ann Arbor based Applicon as an application engineering focused on CAD, CAM, CAE and PDM technologies. He’s a 1988 graduate of Eastern Michigan University, with a bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology and Computer Science.
When not working, Dave enjoys waterskiing, motorcycling, working on his 1968 Pontiac GTO and coaching his two sons in youth football as well as spending time with his wife of 21 years. He is currently based in Siemens PLM Software’s office in Livonia, Michigan.
