Part Manufacturing

The Tecnomatix Part Manufacturing solution is a managed environment of applications for creating process plans, managing and associating tools to that plan, optimizing tool behavior, and creating flexible reports targeted at part manufacture. Tecnomatix Part Manufacturing links the tasks of the manufacturing engineer, NC programmer, tool designer, tooling manager and shop floor personnel in an electronic and managed environment. You can create operations in both a hierarchical (tree) structure and a process sequence using PERT graphical editing and displays. Key is that it provides controlled access to the right part manufacturing data, at the right time, for the right people.

Tecnomatix Part Manufacturing is an important element of the UGS PLM Software solutions for part lifecycle management.

The complete solution includes:

Features and benefits

  • Saves time in the planning of piece-part manufacturing, reduces the costs of errors and improves quality
  • Resource Manager enables re-use of tooling, fixtures and best practice processes for supporting Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma initiatives
  • Data is accessible from key manufacturing applications such as NX CAM or other popular CAD/CAM packages in a CAD neutral environment
  • Full set of applications for toolpath verification, machine simulation, programming development and more.
  • Applications support faster and more efficient programming for such operations as multi-axis milling, drilling, turning, merging lathes, EDM, feature-based machining and highspeed machining.
  • Leverages 3D product data to support faster and robust part manufacturing planning
  • Provides the ability to embed quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
  • Vaulting and management of all part manufacturing related data, files and documentation including ptp, shop docs, clsf and template files.
  • Automated routines for virtual commissioning, reporting, change control, and workflow for supporting all phases of the manufacturing process.
  • High-speed machining lines supported via process plans that leverage part definitions, machine programs and production resources. Manufacturing can define plans in both a hierarchical and a graphical process sequence.
  • Press line operations allows key elements of a press line to be prepared and optimized early in the planning phase. A full virtual representation of the line, dies, tooling equipment and work pieces provides valuable information for engineers long before any part is manufactured.
