New Solid Edge Partner Organisation Unveiled

We’re making some exciting changes to our Solid Edge organisation in the UK.  The changes are part of Siemens’ worldwide strategy to reinvigorate the evolving, mainstream CAD market and have our customers at their heart. We have selected Majenta PLM and Cutting Edge Solutions to be our new focused Solid Edge Solution Partners to capitalise on the growing interest in the industry’s leading mainstream design tool.

The new organisation offers a number of benefits to Solid Edge customers. Whether it’s additional resources and expertise or improved customer care, both Majenta and Cutting Edge will provide additional flexibility and scalability to support strong growth. They bring world-class sales and support services to help the rapidly expanding community of Solid Edge users to design better.

Why are we doing this now?
The market rather liked our latest release of Solid Edge ST4. We received strong support from our customers and even our competitors. All of a sudden everyone was talking about Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology. With unprecedented levels of investment going into Solid Edge and with an increased focus on academia we needed an organisation that had the capacity to meet the needs of a rapidly expanding Solid Edge user community.

By investing in the UK Solid Edge business we are able to increase our support of this successful product range. What we would like more than anything else is to better meet the needs of the mainstream engineering and manufacturing market. This applies to all organisations and users who need easy-to-use, flexible and productive software tools to help them design better. Over the past two years we’ve invested many thousands of hours in Solid Edge software development, which has culminated in the widely acclaimed release of Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology.

Solid Edge with Synchronous Technology – ST4
Solid Edge continues to lead the industry by helping machine designers and enabling engineers to develop better products faster. This latest Solid Edge release enables manufacturers to design better with synchronous technology, collaborate in a multi-CAD environment using the JT data format, validate sheet metal designs faster, and reduce documentation costs with world-class drafting. Academic Support
It’s not just the existing customer base that is set to benefit from our commitment to Solid Edge, but the wider marketplace as well. We’re working hard to ensure the next generation of manufacturing and engineering employees are fully trained and equipped to work with the technology. Cue the Solid Edge Academic Program. We’ve decided to launch a new and extensive academic programme that will offer Universities, Colleges and Schools engineering design curricular and free Solid Edge software for students. If that wasn’t enough, we’ve extended our commitment to education by launching the Solid Edge Student Edition grant program. Students can now register and download the latest version of Solid Edge at no cost. Both Majenta PLM and Cutting Edge are part of this academic strategy, and are involved in a range of initiatives for UK Solid Edge users and local institutions, ultimately providing access to a pool of new talent.

Our aim is simple: ensure that current and future employees using Solid Edge are fully trained and familiar with the best in class technology. If we achieve this we will be supporting the product development needs of the engineering and manufacturing communities for generations to come.

Industry Support
We’re launching a new program called the Solid Edge 45 Day Trial program which allows prospective customers to download a full version of Solid Edge for a 45 day trial period. Our new Solid Edge partner organisation will support these and other exciting future initiatives.
