You may have received an email from Solid Applications Ltd dated 3rd October regarding some changes that Siemens is making to its Solid Edge Partner Programme.
There are a number of statements in the email that are misleading which, for the avoidance of any doubt, Siemens would like to clarify.
Firstly, your licence and maintenance contract is with Siemens Industry Software as before, and you have the choice to continue to use Solid Applications as your Partner to fulfil that contract for the remainder of the existing maintenance term.
Secondly, in order to enhance the service available to our Solid Edge Customers Siemens took the decision to invite tenders for a new Solid Edge Partner Programme five months ago. Solid Applications Ltd, along with many of our other Partners, had full involvement in that process. All Solid Edge resellers were notified as part of the process and formally in writing with more than the required notice that they would lose their right to sell Solid Edge licences and support services from 1st October 2011. That you have been led to believe otherwise is disappointing.
We regret that Solid Applications were ultimately not successful in the tender process but you will understand that, as the proposal from Solid Applications was not as compelling as the business proposals and investment plans from the selected Solid Edge resellers, the decision was taken not to renew Solid Applications’ Partner Agreement in respect of Solid Edge. We encourage you to continue working with Solid Applications currently but also to explore the potential relationship and benefits of working with Majenta PLM as your recommended new partner. As a Platinum Partner, Majenta PLM are a professional and highly skilled organisation with an enviable track record of supporting their customers. They offer a wide range of facilities that extend beyond the full PLM software portfolio to include hardware, infrastructure, financing and data management.
Finally, Siemens has very high regard for its Customer base and the Partners who help us service that base, and it is in the spirit of enhancing the services available to our Customers that Siemens has decided to make these changes to its Solid Edge Partner Programme.
