Robert Jones is vice president of the global General Motors account for Siemens PLM Software, a business unit of the Siemens Industry Automation Division.
He was appointed to this position after serving as vice president of the company’s Automotive & Industrial Equipment business. In that role he was responsible for sales, sales support and services delivery to customers in the automotive and industrial equipment industry in North America.
Previously, Jones also held leadership positions in Siemens PLM Software’s Automotive Industry Marketing group where he was responsible for indirect sales and marketing strategies for the company’s portfolio of products to the automotive OEM and supplier industry. He moved into this position after first joining the company in 1998 as an Account Executive.
Jones began his career in the automotive industry in product development at Johnson Controls, Automotive Systems Group (JCI/ASG). During his tenure at JCI/ASG, he was a chief engineer responsible for mechanism programs to OEM’s in America, Asia and Europe.
Jones has a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Western Michigan University.
He and his wife, Holly, reside in Northville, Michigan, with their four sons.
