Below are a few regional productivity programs Siemens supports.
America Makes is the nation’s leading and collaborative partner in additive manufacturing and 3D printing technology research, discovery, creation and innovation. America Makes is structured as a public-private partnership with member organizations from industry, academia, government, non-government agencies as well as workforce and economic development resources.
Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program (DAPCEP)
DAPCEP is an educational organization that works to increase the number of historically underrepresented students who are motivated and prepared academically to pursue degrees leading to careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) related fields through K-12 supplemental educational programs.
Focus: HOPE Center for Advanced Technologies
The CAT program provides a unique learning experience for students interested in becoming engineers. Students pursue engineering education at partner universities (Lawrence Technological University, Wayne State University, University of Detroit Mercy or University of Michigan) and are exposed to real-world work through internships as well as research and development projects. They receive free tuition and earn a salary while completing their degree.
Higher Engineering Education Alliance Program (HEEAP)
HEEAP’s goal is to transform engineering education from passive, purely theory-based instruction to active, applied and theory-based instruction and learning. HEEAP brings together government, academia and industry to modernize Vietnamese public higher education in engineering.
Hong Kong Productivity Council (HKPC)
HKPC’s mission is to promote productivity excellence through the provision of integrated support across the value chain of Hong Kong firms, in order to achieve a more effective utilization of resources, to enhance the value-added content of products and services, and to increase international competitiveness.
Iowa Western Community College (IWCC) Design Technology Program
IWCC, Siemens PLM Software and local manufacturers in Iowa formed an advisory board to address the state’s skilled labor shortage. This best-practice program offers a detailed white paper and recommended associate’s degree curriculum, providing a blueprint for community colleges around the country to revitalize manufacturing in their communities.
People’s Republic of China Ministry Of Education (MOE)
Siemens PLM Software works with the People’s Republic of China MOE to support the National Computer-Aided Technology Certification Project (CAXc Project). The project cultivates innovative engineering technology talent and enhances career opportunities for China’s university and secondary vocational school students.
Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU)
Siemens PLM Software and SJTU founded the PLM College in SJTU’s School of Mechanical Engineering. The college generates top technology talent for China’s manufacturing industry. It also supports the “Excellent Engineer” incubation program for students seeking careers in PLM, digital design and manufacturing.
Siemens PLM USA Veterans Initiative Program
This program provides free CAD and CAM training for US veterans at facilities around the United States to help get veterans back to work in skilled jobs. Siemens PLM Software works with partner organizations such as the United Service Organization, Still Serving Veterans and Hope for the Warriors.
Virginia Biosciences Development Center (VBDC)
Siemens PLM Software and VBDC collaborate to support medical device entrepreneurs in central Virginia. The center promotes the advancement of a thriving biosciences community by developing programs, initiatives and facilities that help create new jobs, companies and investments in the region.
Yancheng Institute of Technology (YCIT)
YCIT is a leading institute in China with a college dedicated to educating the next generation of automotive engineers on Siemens PLM Software technology.
