Zollner Elektronik AG
Zollner is one of the world’s top 15 Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) providers. Since 2002, Zollner’s process planners have used systems for material flow simulation. These systems were later complemented with tools for 3D visualized ergonomics studies and layout plans. However, growing customer requirements and Zollner’s desire for a stronger focus on full system manufacturing called for implementing an integrated solution capable of handling increasingly more information. To meet its requirements, Zollner established a benchmark project in which the production processes of an existing product were validated within a live test that lasted several months. Siemens’ Tecnomatix® software was the test system that proved its worth.
