Tecnomatix 9 includes multiple enhancements for the automotive industry, further extending Tecnomatix’s productivity advantage. Productivity improvements in Process Management, Part Planning and Validation, and Robotics and Automation Planning headline the new features.

Global Engineering

• Manufacturing Process Management - Improvements in the accountability check application allow you to assess differences between EBOM and MBOM faster. Each user can adapt the workplace to their needs, while predefined environments with common workflows are also available.
• Part Planning and Validation - Manufacturing Tooling Library (Resource Manager) provides a new classification for tooling data in Teamcenter Manufacturing, as well as an intuitive navigator, which improves your ability to navigate in the tool library. Management of post-processor files in Part Planner ensures proper versioning and availability across multiple users/sites, increasing data accuracy.
• Assembly Planning and Validation - New capabilities allow for automatic creation of In Process Assembly (IPA) nodes. The system calculates the IPA tree and presents it to you in a way what eliminates manual effort and helps to increase quality and accuracy.

Body in White Design

• Part Planning and Validation – Based upon the Teamcenter data management platform, Tecnomatix Part Planning and Validation enables viewing of CAM objects (NC programs) and documents, and provides the ability to author, validate, and document processes in a single associative environment. This reduces the complexity for NC programmer and improves the ability to manage CAM data within the NX environment.
• Robotics and Automation Planning - The Path Automation Center of Process Simulate provides the ability to define collision free path for robotic operations automatically, and optimize existing paths to save engineering and production time. The Continuous Manufacturing Features of Process Simulate provide the ability to design and simulate robotic operations based on continuous (as opposed to discrete) manufacturing features (i.e. laser welding, arc welding), allowing you to benefit from digital manufacturing in this area.
• Assembly Planning and Validation – Tecnomatix 9 offers improved abilities to work with process/operation times. You can determine the breakdown into value-added and non-value-added elements of the operation time. Proximity search for virtual studies and IPA allow you to reduce the amount of parts being loaded to Process Simulate by deciding up-front on the geometric space that is relevant for the study.
• Quality Management - Dimensional Planning and Validation (DPV) allows you to define and manipulate datum transformations during interactive analysis, and save the results in a centralized environment using Teamcenter. This allows for more flexible reporting and analysis of feature measurements.

Sustainability

• Assembly Planning and Validation - Simulate multiple what-if scenarios to identify the best sustainable work environment. The new Task Simulation Builder significantly reduces effort for ergonomic and safety studies and allows the reuse of the task definition as the product/facility evolves throughout the development process. The improved Jack human model enables highly realistic simulations, and additional ergonomic analysis capabilities (RULA) enable the detection of upper limb injury and identify a task score that indicates the degree of intervention required.
• Plant Design and Optimization - Plan storage areas in 3D for efficient storage of raw inventory and finished goods, as well as transportation spaces (e.g. truck trailers, vans) to reduce wasted resources due to unnecessary material handling and transportation. Also model in-bound logistics systems, such as the delivery trucks carrying raw materials that must be unloaded and stored.
