Chairman, CEO and President

As we begin 2006 I would like to first take the opportunity to wish all of you a happy, healthy and prosperous new year.

The beginning of a new year is always a time to look forward. One aspect of future planning to which UGS is strongly committed is the development of tomorrow's engineers and technologists.

Our Global Opportunities in Product Lifecycle Management (GO PLM) program was developed to address the critical business issues our customers face from the shrinking supply of skilled employees and the gap between current worker skills and the level of performance required in today's global manufacturing market. We view this effort as so important that we committed software and services with a commercial value of more than $2 billion to the program in 2005.

The GO PLM initiative covers five key education and community development programs:

  • Academic Partnership
  • Youth Development
  • Regional Productivity
  • PACE (Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education)
  • Community Relations
