UGS Partner Program - Evolution and Growth
This year, UGS has added 12 new partners to its global partner program and transitioned another 31 from its legacy partner programs during the first half of 2005. Companies from around the world have quickly realized the value of working with the UGS platform. This has helped UGS create a dynamic and fast growing partner ecosystem that delivers value to our customers through an unsurpassed breadth of PLM solutions all working together within a consistent environment.
Starting in Q4 this year, we are expanding and re-defining our partner program to better describe and define the rich variety of partner companies that are so vital to our customers' and our success.
The partner ecosystem we rolled out over a year ago described our partners as Strategic, Foundation, Open, or Partner level. While these names served well to describe the level of integration each of our partners had with our software products, we believe that an expansion of the competencies will give us even clearer descriptions of the relationship we have with each partner company.
These new competencies are designed to show the specific business in which a partner company is engaged, and also the level of integration or involvement a partner company has with UGS.
The new Competencies are:
Channel Sales: These are our worldwide sales partners. Our Channel Sales partners increase our sales and service capabilities worldwide.
GOPLM: Our academic and regional productivity partners are recognized here. UGS is unique in the PLM industry, offering Global Opportunities in PLM (GO PLM) Partners software that can be used at every academic level - from middle schools to graduate engineering research programs or displaced worker and community development initiatives.
Software: This category covers partners involved in producing software solutions complementary to the UGS suite of products. This category will include our current Foundation, Open and Solid Edge Voyager partners. Partners in the Software competency will deliver unique solutions compatible with UGS products, or in some cases built using UGS software APIs or components.
Services: These are partners involved in engineering services, implementation or training on UGS' PLM solutions. Services partners offer UGS additional capacity for a variety of engagements around the globe.
Systems Integrator: Partners that both sell and implement UGS products are in this competency. Systems Integrators will have a close working relationship with UGS throughout all levels of our organization.
