XpresReview - A New Productivity Solution for Collaborative Design Reviews
Product design reviews have become a global collaborative affair and often a major bottleneck in the overall design cycle. UGS has responded to the growing need for OEMs and their suppliers to exchange information with a new solution for design reviews - XpresReview.
Supported by NX and Solid Edge, XpresReview elegantly solves the problem of how to share multiple documents in a collaborative environment, taking advantage of UGS' innovative and popular concept of Packaged Collaboration Files. XpresReview "packages" can contain lightweight representations of NX or Solid Edge 3D CAD files, 2D drawings, Microsoft Office documents, Adobe PDFs, images, or virtually any other file, enabling customers to conduct PLM processes such as sending a complete design review package or a supplier bid package with requirements, Terms & Conditions and schedules.
By packaging documents from different sources into a single file, NX and Solid Edge users can ensure that participants in the review process have all the information needed for effective communication. Documents in the package can then be viewed, marked up, interrogated, and repackaged for return to the originator or the next person in the review process. The ability to propagate NX and Solid Edge data, along with other important documents, to the supply chain with a single package file is far more effective than simply communicating with drawings.
XpresReview is designed to add value to UGS' existing authoring products by enabling customers to share any design data with partners and suppliers in a complete contextual package, and once again strengthens UGS' position as the de facto standard for PLM and the company's open approach to business and technology development.
