Teamcenter Delivers New Program Execution Management Capabilities with Teamcenter Project 5.0 (cont.)

As product lifecycle management applications continue to mature, Program Execution Management has become the enterprise navigator of critical business information. Critical decision support information, an engaging graphical display, and real-time information processing create a management environment that sets the standard for Program Execution Management applications

In November, UGS released Teamcenter Project 5.0, the Teamcenter source for Program Execution Management.

Benefits:

  • Management status, control, and communication throughout the enterprise
  • Greater program efficiency through fast real-time decision capabilities
  • Reduction in costs through faster time-to-revenue
  • Continuous visibility of enterprise performance against targets

Functionality

  • Gain real-time insight into program portfolio status
  • View detailed project information via drill-down
  • Collaboratively schedule, allocate and level resources across multiple projects
  • Create what-if scenarios to explore program options

Management Dashboard

The new program execution management dashboard capability in Teamcenter Project 5.0 provides visibility to consolidated resource and costing information, as well as best practices analysis. With 20 out-of-the-box reports presented in the dashboard format, all vital information is available, including custom views geared toward executive decision-makers.

Process Automation

Teamcenter Project 5.0 also offers new process automation capabilities, extending the 4.0 release's task-initiated workflow tools. The combination of workflow with project schedule supports phase-gate processes; orchestrating phases, gates, deliverables and criteria to ensure successful program execution from start to finish.

Microsoft Integration

Teamcenter Project 5.0 offers greater integration with Microsoft Project Server to consolidate multiple Microsoft projects into a virtual workspace so users can look at interdependencies among projects, do critical-path analysis and look at costs and resources at the program level.

Teamcenter's Open PLM Foundation

Teamcenter Project's increasing integration with Teamcenter's open PLM foundation combines PLM with program execution management to offer a higher level of new product development and launch automation. This release offers work-product deliverables scripted in the project templates. As projects are initiated and executed, the traceability and connectivity to the PLM systems in place allow for the smooth synchronization of status and controlled development of the new product. The bi-directional integration allows the project schedules to be driven and executed by the Teamcenter PLM workflow engine. An optional add-on capability includes connectivity to Teamcenter Requirements to provide requirements-driven planning.
