UGS to Launch Femap Version 9

Femap is the world's leading Windows-native engineering simulation tool for finite element analysis (FEA). This month, UGS will launch Version 9 of Femap to further demonstrate the company's commitment to serving its computer-aided engineering (CAE) customers, including those who use CAD systems other than UGS NX, such as CATIA, Pro/Engineer, AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Solid Edge. "Femap provides a CAD-neutral solution that scales well within any organization, regardless of business size or product complexity," said Chuck Grindstaff, executive vice president, PLM Products, UGS. "We believe our open, customer-centric approach to product development translates directly into competitive advantages for our customers."

Feedback from Beta testing indicates that the streamlined Windows-native user interface is expected to deliver significant productivity enhancements. The new interface makes it possible to more quickly navigate and access commands and functionality and simplifies modeling and analysis processes. Other highlights include a significant increase in finite element modeling performance, advances in integrations to NX Nastran and continued integration with the world's leading structural and thermal solvers.
