Teamcenter Engineering Now Available on Microsoft SQL Server 2000 (cont.)
"Businesses of all sizes are adopting Windows Server System and SQL Server as the foundation for enterprise productivity," said Steve Bashada, vice president of Teamcenter applications, UGS. "Our ability to easily layer Teamcenter within that infrastructure provides rich, scalable PLM capabilities to our customers that can be deployed quickly and cost-effectively. Businesses that have embraced the Microsoft platform will now have access to world's leading PLM solution, Teamcenter, to enable their PLM vision."
With this month's release, Teamcenter Engineering now supports Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Service Pack 3 Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition on Windows Server 2003. Across the portfolio, Teamcenter now fully utilizes the Microsoft technology platform to deliver collaboration, knowledge management and lifecycle process automation in a growing Windows server environment. This makes Teamcenter solutions more accessible, and affordable, for a wider community. Customers are also able to use other SQL Server-based enterprise solutions, such as Windows SharePoint Services, SQL Server 2000 Reporting Services and BizTalk Server among others, all within a common IT infrastructure.
"By building on Microsoft technology, UGS continues to provide customers with proven solutions that address key business challenges by enabling improved collaboration and communication across the business," said Don Richardson, director, Manufacturing Industry Unit at Microsoft. "This is another example of how Microsoft's integrated platform helps to optimize and automate critical business functions while allowing companies to leverage their existing technology investments."
