Teamcenter and ECAD
Thursday, 1:30-3:00
This session will introduce the strategy for managing PCB design data in Teamcenter. Products today have an ever-increasing electronic content that is critical to manage in conjunction with the mechanical definition. The design of these electronic products is a struggle between engineering's desire to make the next generation product smaller, faster and more functional versus manufacturing's desire to produce a reliable product with high manufacturing yields.
Reaching the best mix of these two contending efforts has a greater likelihood of success if more of the appropriate individuals can be brought into the decision making process at the right time. ECAD design data is in a proprietary format and produced by very sophisticated and complex software products. During the design of electronic product, effective access to the product's complex design data offers the opportunity to reduce communication and verification tasks in half. Teamcenter EDA provides the capability to capture the ECAD design data, create normalized visualization data, and manage the access to this data. Effective access also yields higher quality prototypes and eventually higher quality products, enabling you to offer the right product to market at the right time at a reduced cost.
