UGS Announces Training for I-deas to NX 2, NX Manager I-deas 3.0
UGS Education Services announces the availability of new training courses targeting those I-deas customers that desire to make the move to Unigraphics NX 2 or to Teamcenter Engineering. The pacing and content of these courses have been designed specifically for experienced I-deas users.
I-deas to NX Version Up Basics is intended for the casual user. This course introduces the user to basic Unigraphics NX functions and concepts, and is the first in a series of two courses that prepares the production designer to create and modify parts, assemblies and products in Unigraphics NX.
This 2-day instructor-led course includes:

The Ideas to NX Version Up course builds on the material in the I-deas to Version Up Basics course, and is intended for those students who will be using Unigraphics NX on a daily basis. Upon completion of this course, I-deas users will have the capability to apply more advanced concepts and techniques to create and modify parts, assemblies and products in Unigraphics NX, leveraging their years of I-deas experience.
This 3-day instructor-led course includes:

- Duplicating Features
- Interpart modeling
- Associative Offset Curves
- Interpart expressions
- Face Operations
- Part Families
- Variable blends
- Component Arrays
- Top-down assembly modeling

NX Manager I-deas for Users introduces experienced I-deas users to the NX Manager I-deas user interface and to the concepts and procedures for working in the Teamcenter Engineering CAD integrated environment to store and manage their data. Users will accelerate their productivity by learning familiar I-deas data management tasks in the new NX environment. Hands-on activities demonstrate the concepts and procedures of data management.
This one-day instructor-led course includes:
- Product data management concepts and terms
- Using the Teamcenter Engineering Portal Interface
- Using the My Navigator application
- Using the Model File View dialog and I-deas Manage Bins
- Creating, storing, and revising parts and assemblies
- Performing queries to find data and references
